Having joined Midland Bank/HSBC in 1979, Colin undertook various retail banking roles before focussing on bank lending for both personal and business clients. With a change of direction Colin moved into financial planning where he spent 12 years coaching, developing and managing teams of Mortgage Managers and Financial Planners.
By 2012, high street banks changed their approach to financial services and Colin saw this as an opportunity to seek new challenges. He then spent 3 years helping a friend start up his own Wealth Management Company before becoming a Certification Scheme Assessor allowing him to travel the UK assessing Financial Advisors and their companies against the British Standards (BS8577) and International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO22222). This allowed Colin to ‘look under the hood’ of Financial Planning firms, ensure they operated within the spirit of the standards and share best practices. This was also how Colin first met Paul and the Concept Team.

John Miles sang ’music is my first love and it will be my last….’. So music, particularly classic rock and blues play an important part of Colin’s leisure time, especially live music. However, his wife Jan and children Glenn and Kiera will have more than something to say if they are not his first love!
Travel has been and remains an important part of Colin’s life and Florida is by far the favourite family destination.
Colin is also a keen golfer, an avid Spurs fan and a City and Guilds qualified Gardener!
The biggest highlight of his life so far, is delivering his daughter at home with the help of his mother-in-law and the ambulance services on the other end of the phone!
